This piece is the second of three narratives (L'amore della madre, Rock of Ages), this one being the obviously figurative.In this piece the doves, whilst continuing to play a 'window' role, their part in the narrative is more symbolic drawing the viewer into reflection as they follow the doves' trajectory across and up the canvas.  This feeling of internal reflection and contemplation is underlined by the palette, the application of golden highlights and the symbolism associated with the lion.  The sum of all of the elements allows the viewer to understand the narrative of this piece.
